Shaped card for QKR Stampede challenge #257

This week the challenge at QKR Stampede has the option to create a shaped card - no squares or rectangles.  When I saw this image at the QKR store, I thought of making an ornament - something I rarely do.  Actually, this could be used as a card, creating an ornament for the recipient.   We would be pleased if you would join our challenge.  You are eligible to win digis by entering up to 3 times before 6 p.m. Thursday Aug. 24.  The challenge is always anything goes with an optional theme.
The image is QKR Stampede's Mary and Joseph Circle Stamp by Eureka (sister company of QKR).  If you cannot read the verse, it begins:  Joseph went up from Galilee...
I used a couple of the circles from Spellbinders Majestic Elements for the outside circles.
In retrospect, I would do a bit more to visually separate the layers,  I used white, burgundy and black cs, and a bit of gold paper recycled from a gift bag. I added some glitter to the star and the outer black circle.  The "hanger" is cut using a die from Spellbinder's Banner Basics Three.  I cut it twice from the gift bag paper, and again from cs.  I glued this sandwich together, gluing the lower portion on either side of the ornament, and added a gold cord bow.

SCS DTGD - Cheryl's

I have almost finished adding the 35 cards I did for the Dare to Get Dirty challenge at SplitCoastStampers.  This is a card from Aug. 8.  I have not used it often, but this Pink Gem image is so cute - and goes with the Verve sentiment.  I used some mesh for texture.

I used last week's Sketch Saturday design, but missed the deadline for posting it!  This is one more of the cards from my SCS gallery (posted 8-8) that I want to add to my blog.  I used some Oriental DP (DCWV) that I need to quit hoarding.  I added a die cut blossom, sentiment, and some cord.

QKR Stampede Challenge #256 - Anything Goes: Option - Music

This angel with her harp is an adorable image from QKR Stampede - and I have chosen to use a matching sentiment.  The weekly Anything Goes challenge includes an option of "Inspired by Music". Take a look at what all the DT members have done HERE, and, if you click on the link to the shop, you can find all of the stamps we have used!  You may enter the challenge up to 3 times.  Winners receive digis.  Remember, the music theme is optional.
I used shiny markers for most of the coloring, and Twinkling H2O for her dress, so she is pretty shimmery!  Other items used include a Cuttlebug Stars Embossing folder, Washi tape, and square gold gems.

Imagine That - 8-10-17 Inspiration

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends

For a few months I have the pleasure of being a guest designer for Imagine That Digistamp.  This cute Jenn is my card for today.    If you visit the blog here you will see the great cards created by the other designers.  And if you visit the store, you will find this set including Jenn and several sentiments, a well as a lot more.  The pixilated dp is available in a set here as well as a part of this bundle.
I colored her with Prismas, backed her with Textile embossing, and added a shiny pink bow.  The oval die is by Spellbinders Majestic Elements.  There is some glitter, and I used shiny paint for her boots and trim on the hat.

Imagine That DigiStamp FLAMINGO release TODAYFlamingo B

Flamingo Bird-day

For a few weeks I have the pleasure of being a guest designer for Imagine That DigiStamp.  What fun it is to use their fun and fanciful sets.   The most difficult part is deciding which image to use!  Today is release day for 3 fanciful flamingo sets.  I used this flirty flamingo to make a cute birthday card.
This set is available here.  You will also be able to see the Flamingo Beach set which was released earlier.

Monday evening will see the release of another Flamingo set.  There is a coordinating paper set as well.  All of these newly released sets will also be available for purchase in a bundle.  As you can see, these are adorable flamingos.  In each set you will have a pre-colored image as well as one in black and white.  There are several sentiments, and a couple of coordinating papers.  Happy shopping!
If you stop by the Imagine That Creative Playground,  you can see what the other Design Team members have been up to.

In addition to the image and sentiment from the Flamingo Birthday set, I used  DP from a Debbie Mumm paper pad and a bit of ribbon.

SCS Dare to get Dirty Edna B

This is a digi that I labelled "anonymous" in my file.  It has been there a long time and I think that was a digi company.  I colored the image with Prismas.  I printed a second image and cut out and colored the blossoms to add dimension.

SCS Dare to Get Dirty - Rebecca

My second shaker card  - I discovered they are not as difficult as I thought they might be.  I used an oval die to cut layers of cs, cardboard, and acrylic.  I cut  frames of the black cs and the cardboard by using a smaller oval.  A Spellbinder die was used to cut the fancy border, and a birthday embossing folder completed the background.  No name on the balloon stamp!  Recycle:  I used acrylic from packaging, and cardboard from a flat rate envelope.

I have had this bicycle die for a while and am glad to have a chance to use it - inspired by the Cuttlebug Mania challenge.  I got a package of dies with no name!!!  The HI is from the Cuttlebug Olivia - an old alpha set.  I used a Darice fall scene for the background.

Heart embossing folder by Darice; stamp by Stampin up; Washi tape, SandyLion heart sticker; lace

I used a new Cuttlebug Star embosing folder as a backing for this shaker card - one of a handful I have ever made.  The image is part of a cube stamp that has no manufacturer named.  The sentiment is by SJ.

SCS Dare to Get Dirty - Margs

I am way behind - need to have to 35 cards done by Wed., if I want to do them all!  I am about half way...
This uses watercolor pencils for a wash for the background.  The stamp is Stampabilities, and the sentiment from a $ bin.

SteamPunk for SCS Dare to Get Dirty - Robin

I rarely use this stamp - I have had it for a long time - it is marked Limited Edition but I can't read a maker name.  To me it goes with this Steampunk EF by Darice.  I embossed on a piece from a gift bag (I used to be able to get huge bags for $1 at Dollar tree).  I then lightly sponged black ink for some highlights.  Some screw top brads, snippets of ribbon and light sponging complete the design.

It does not show well on the screen but the dark raspberry shiny cs is embossed with my Embossalicious birthday folder.  The die cut has no name - it was a freebie with a magazine and I have forgotten which.  The 80 is for my Sister - in -laws birthday.

SCS DTGD - Smilyn Stef

Supplies:  Cuttlebug Embossing folder, chalk, Washi Tape, $1 stamp.  CAS cards - especially with one paper layer only - are most definitely a challenge for me!

SCS Dare to get Dirty - Nancy Litrell

Technique:  Placing small amounts of ink (different colors) on cutting mat; spritz with water, smooosh tissue paper and smooth with fingers to cover tissue paper; let dry,  It is a bit fragile so I left the slightly distressed look..  I wanted earth tones for the lower layer and my inks were not juicy enough, so I used small ink pads and applied directly to the tissue paper.    Stampendous stamp; dark blue cs.

Here is one more entry for the SplitCoastStampers Dare to get Dirty challenge week - Fan Club membership required. I used gold glitter glue for a resist with blue refill ink - mixed with water.  I cut an oval frame with my Spellbinder dies to add a bit of dimension and separation.  Completed with metallic gold ribbon and a computerized sentiment.  The stamp is an oldie from Rubber Stampede.
